FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • WBL Boundless Campaign is an endowment effort to raise $2M over three years. The Campaign will support new initiatives that will elevate the role and relevance of WBL for current and future members. The name “Boundless” was selected to represent our plans to surpass the limits (the “bounds”) of what WBL has accomplished thus far.

  • Despite being a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit for the last 20+ years, this is the first time we have run a fundraising Campaign. This Campaign will allow us to diversify our funding streams and support initiatives that cannot be funded through our current funding streams: membership dues, event registration fees, and corporate sponsorships.

The time is right for WBL to bring even greater awareness to our mission. It is time to stretch and to try some new things we have not been able to do before. The Campaign will be an opportunity to fund exciting new initiatives.

  • We’ve learned that our donors have some unique and personal reasons for giving, and the reasons behind their donations. This information inspired us to create personas that we hope will inspire you, too, to donate to the WBL Boundless campaign this year!

  • Initially, the Campaign will focus on its first strategic priority: the WBL Fellows Program.

The Campaign will fundraise and rely on investment proceeds to fund these special programs and the staff needed to support these initiatives. Funding will support the additional staff needed to accomplish these special projects.

A Planned Giving Committee of WBL members will provide strategy and fundraising support for the Campaign. This committee will be led by Lynn Snyder and Mary Flipse as co-chairs.

  • We greatly appreciate our corporate sponsors. They are essential to WBL’s successful operation. Corporate sponsorships are a way to support WBL’s current activities, and are two-way partnerships directly benefiting both WBL and our sponsor.

The Campaign is a way to give back, help create a legacy, and provide support for future generations of women.

The funds will be sourced from different places: our sponsorships work with marketing, HR, or sales departments, while our Campaign would seek funding through corporate giving or corporate foundations. We will be looking for new ways to engage with the philanthropic arms of member companies to support the Campaign.

  • Pledge your support! We have pledge cards available at in-person gatherings to do that and more information can be found at on the Donate page.

If you’d like to be involved in the Campaign strategy and fundraising, please let staff know. There is an application process to serve on the new Planned Giving Committee.

  • We are grateful for your membership and participation in WBL. There is no expectation for participation in the Campaign.

But, if you have ideas for the Campaign’s initiatives, or ideas for funding partners, please let us know! We’d love to hear your ideas.

We are hopeful that the Campaign will not just make WBL financially stronger, but provide insights and support that will make our regular programming even better.
